Short Story

Any relation to this story irl is completely coincidental

The umpire controlling the match that day that over was very well known for his keen observational skills. The narrative about to be told did rewrite the course of modern cricket history happened during his watch that day. His scanning eyes and ears running on and off the pitch and ground impatiently to detect a slight sign of something fishy. Legends about him say he can even hear fishes laugh while doing fishing. Both sounds irrelevant, I know but after the story it becomes completely relevant, you will see 🤝

A tall and handsome young bowler with a cute curly pink hair was preparing to bowl his first ball. He had a rough morning that day, he won't share much with teammates, so everybody thinks he is just fine on his own. But the situation there that day was quite different, he was desperately in need of a 5 finger hand to hold on to, but.. nobody offered. The man of his pride and unmatchable confidence, don't give up that easily, he decided to stand up for himself alone in that field that very day where around 30 more people present there including the ball boys and other thousands too, in the gallery. While he was running fast and furious towards the crease in the bowler's end, a sound with some alien smell got released free from his tight lower back. At first our keen observant umpire thought it's normal, nothing to worry or much to think about. And the ball went smooth to the hands of the keeper as well. Nothing happened as per our umpire predicted secretly. Second ball did the same, so did the sound. While the third ball about to be bowled, umpire thought to scrutinize the moments very carefully. And the third ball fired from the bowler's hand with the same lower back sound. This time our umpire was getting warmed up for real. He sensed some fish on the air oxygen above the ground. His eyes sparked with the joy he about to unfold

But for the bowler, things getting really bad, for a moment he even thought of quitting the scene, he couldn't do this anymore, he was all alone in that full packed stadium (can you imagine?? . Why no one's ever cared for him, ever? 🙁) While the sad bgm from that world famous ship wreck movie running in his mind's background, he was preparing himself for the fourth ball

Don't cry guys, as you can see he was trying to do his best. Let's cheer him up with a hard round of applause, yeah like that 👏

Rest of the story is on it's way, hope the gps there working just fine hehe
